To share, to hold, to witness
Birth work is sacred—and it’s also heavy.
As doulas, midwives, nurses, NICU staff, OB/GYNs, and therapists, you hold not only with your hands, but with your heart. Some stories settle deep in your body: the birth that replayed in your mind, the grief you carried home, the helplessness that never left.
This group is a place to set that weight down.
Secondary Trauma Group
The Embodied Spirit Wheel
The Embodied Spirit Wheel was first developed by Gina Ogden, PhD, a pioneer in integrative and relational approaches to healing. Originally created as the 4-Dimensional Wheel, it was designed as a way to help people explore their lived experiences through four interconnected dimensions: mind, body, heart, and spirit.
Over the years, this framework has been used in therapy, workshops, and circles around the world to support healing from trauma, strengthen relationships, and invite deeper self-understanding. Its power lies in how it honors the whole person—recognizing that our thoughts, emotions, physical bodies, and spiritual selves are all connected.
In my practice, I use the Embodied Spirit Wheel to guide birth workers and mothers in gently processing what they’ve carried—offering a safe and reflective space for release, integration, and renewal.
About the Group
This is a small, in-person therapy group (limited to 6 participants) for birth professionals who are carrying secondary trauma from the births they’ve witnessed. Together, we’ll create space for what’s sacred, stuck, or silently stored—so the shadows don’t loom anymore, and you can return to your work with greater lightness and peace.
In our two hours together, we’ll move through the Embodied Spirit Framework—a gentle process that explores your story through mind, body, heart, and spirit. It’s a reflective way to honor the complexity of what you hold and begin integrating it with compassion.
